The state of Arizona has passed a new immigration law which, for those of you out of the loop, allows law enforcement to practice racial profiling. Basically, if you look like an illegal immigrant and you are stopped by the police in Arizona, you had better have all your identification handy, regardless of your citizenship. There are plenty of reasons why it is good to have a robust list of immigration laws, but I'll let the expert below summarize that in all their capslock glory:

"THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD REASONS FOR IMMIGRATION LAWS:
1. WE DO NOT WANT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WITH DEADLY DISEASES LIKE T.B. COUGHING ALL OVER OUR VEGETABLES AT THE GROCERY STORE AND DO NOT WANT THEM IN OUR SCHOOLS COUGHING ALL OVER OUR CHILDREN
2. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE LEGALLY IMMIGRATED TO THE UNITED STATES AND FOLLOWED ALL THE RULES. ILLEGALS NEED TO GET INTO LINE BEHIND THEM AND WAIT THEIR TURN AND FOLLOW THE SAME PROCESS. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING HERE ILLEGALLY. PERIOD.
3. WE NEED TO KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE COMING TO THIS COUNTRY ARE NOT: RAPISTS, PEDOPHILES, DRUG DEALERS, MURDERERS, SERIAL KILLERS, TORTURERS, OR TERRORISTS DISGUISED AS MEXICANS.
THE HISPANICS PROTESTING DO NOT SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE. THAT IMMIGRATION LAWS ARE IN PLACE, AND LAWS EXIST SO THAT THERE IS EQUALITY FOR ALL."
